Accessibility
In line with DDA 1995 requirements, and best practice detailed by the World Wide Web Consortium Web Accessibility Initiative (http://www.w3.org/WAI/), our aim is to develop all content for this site to web compliant standards. We are therefore working towards XHTML 1.0 (Transitional) compliance throughout and CSS validation.
Specific accessibility features in place include hidden 'skip navigation' links for screen readers, scaleable font sizes, and - though the site remains table-based - the majority of visual layout is controlled by external CSS (including page width, colours etc.). Access keys have also been set up for the main sections of the site as follows:
h - Home s - Advanced search a - My job applications c - My CV m - My email alerts r - My registration details b - My job basket e - Employer list l - Log out o - About this site u - Contact us i - Careers advice
To make use of these in Internet Explorer for PC, select the appropriate letter whilst holding down the 'Alt' key, then press 'Enter'. Other browsers support access keys also; please refer to your browser's documentation for details. |
