Specialist Nurses

£38,369 per annum pro rata

Post one: permanent, part time 22.5 hours per week

Post two: permanent, full-time 37.5 hours per week

Based at Counting House, London Bridge

What the job involves
You will be part of a small clinical team within a leading national charity. You will give information and support to men and their families via a range of contact mediums which includes: telephone, email, web-chat, social media and letters.

In addition to this work, you will have the opportunity to be involved in working with other teams across the charity to deliver educational sessions, attend conferences and review written information.  Please note that there is no direct patient contact as part of this role.

Our nurses work Monday-Friday, on a rota where the shift patterns are as follows:

  • Early; 8.45am-4.45pm (average 2/3 per week)
  • Mid; 10.15am-6.15pm (no more than two per week – worked from home)
  • Late; 12.15pm-8.15pm (approximately once every six weeks - worked from home).

The part-time Specialist Nurse will work a three day week, flexibly across Monday-Friday, and the full-time Specialist Nurse will work Monday – Friday. Both roles will include some evening work (which would be undertaken in the home environment after a period of induction).

What we want from you
As a Registered Nurse, you will have demonstrable clinical experience at NHS Band 6, including experience in urology, oncology or palliative care. You will bring with you exceptional communication skills and IT skills too. You need to be flexible and adaptable to meet the complex demands of this role, and be able to contribute to evening shifts on a rotational basis.

We are looking for committed, enthusiastic and compassionate individuals who are wishing to use their clinical knowledge to support men with prostate cancer, and wish to develop new skills working for a national charity.

Why work for us?
We have a simple ambition – to stop men dying from prostate cancer.

Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention and support, we can make prostate cancer a disease the next generation of men need not fear. Be part of a team that will put an end to prostate cancer being a killer.

The support we’ll provide

Join our team and you’ll be working at an award-winning charity that will help you learn, develop your skills and expertise, and achieve your highest aspirations. We provide everything you’d expect from a professional organisation – competitive benefits package, contributory pension scheme, life insurance, child care vouchers, and season ticket loan – but much more besides. Work with us and you’ll see your efforts pay off as we fight for a better future for men.
