Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated Theatre Manager to inspire, supervise and support our Theatre Team at Nuffield Health Chichester Hospital.

About Our Hospital:
Nuffield Health Chichester Hospital is a 30-bed purpose built facility close to the city centre, offering an extensive range of diagnostic facilities and major surgical procedures to private patients and the NHS.  We have 2 modern laminar flow operating Theatres and a JAG compliant Endoscopy suite.

About the Role:
·       The role of Theatre Manager is a key figure within the Hospital as a whole, working closely with an experienced and well-qualified team alongside a significant number of consultants and doctors to maintain high standards of clinical care.
·       Theatre Manager reports directly to Hospital Matron / Head of Clinical Services and is a member of the Hospital Leadership Team.  You will have full management and operational responsibility for the Theatres and for the Endoscopy suite.  This includes accountability for resources (including staff and equipment) and for effective utilisation within an exceptionally busy facility.
·       High quality leadership is required to deliver the highest standards of individualized patient care and in support of the Hospital as a whole to provide an excellent customer experience together with the best possible clinical outcomes.
·       In this role you will be required to demonstrate a commitment to the development of high quality evidence based acute care in line with regulatory and corporate frameworks.  You will work closely with and support the Hospital Matron / Head of Clinical Services, providing expert knowledge as applicable.
·       Your management obligations in delivering a well-run team will include the effective monitoring and management of resources through budgets, workforce planning, Theatre lists efficiency metrics, KPIs and financial targets.
·       It is essential that you develop excellent working relationships with staff colleagues, consultants and with key internal and external suppliers.
·       You should facilitating appropriate education, training and development opportunities within your team and ensure that local mandatory training requirements are met.
·       Additionally you will be expected to both initiate and supporting Hospital and regional business initiatives, policies and strategies which improve the service delivery to all our patients and customers.
 
Skills / Experience Required:
Suitable applicants are required to be registered with either the NMC or HPC In addition applicants will require specialist clinical training, i.e. Degree Level (BSc) qualifications, including specialist nursing practice / specialist practitioner qualifications, as well as ‘short courses’ to Masters Level or equivalent.
You will also be required to have significant experience within your specialist fields working at senior level within a clinical setting and the associated governance and technical knowledge to support this.
Successful candidates should possess:Previous experience of working as a Theatre Manager or Deputy Theatre Manager in an acute healthcare setting either in private healthcare or the NHS.
A track record of success in these roles.
Demonstrable leadership skills, personnel management skills
Strong relevant clinical knowledge and experience
Comprehensive understanding of relevant clinical standards
Excellent communication skills
Sound computer skills and knowledge
Current ILS / ALS qualifications
Teaching and Assessing in clinical practice (998) 
If you have a professional management qualification and experience of staff and budget management this would be an advantage.
