Clinical Nurse Specialist

JOB OPPORTUNITIES – EPIDERMOLOYSIS BULLOSA FULL TIME (Band 6) and PART TIME (Band 7) at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Opportunities have arisen in the EB Team for two paediatric CNS positions at Band 6 (Temporary) and Band 7 (Permanent) levels. Posts are based at GOSH, working in partnership with the charity DEBRA.

EB is a multi-system disease that requires a great deal of specialist input. A world-renowned clinical team, who are experts in this field, are responsible for delivering services, diagnostics and assessments to affected patients.

The successful candidate will:

• Have relevant clinical experience in an acute or community environment
• Be flexible and reliable
• Be competent lone working and making clinical decisions based on best practice guidelines
• Have a passion for learning new skills and taking on daily challenges

Is this you?? If so you will have the opportunity to:

• Take part in pioneering global research studies
• Attend relevant conferences and participate in spreading the word about EB
• Build relationships with families from birth, and guide them through to their transitional stage
• Obtain expert wound care knowledge and learn complex dressing regimes
• Assist in diagnosing new patients with EB
• Run nurse led clinics at GOSH and other centres
• Work closely with the other three recognised centres of EB in the UK AND the rest of the world!

Although applicants may not have specific knowledge or experience with EB, the successful candidate should be aware that extensive travel will be required and that the ability to work alone is an essential pre-requisite for this role.
