Royal School for the Deaf Derby is a unique provider of day and residential placements for deaf children and young people aged 3 – 19. All pupils are challenged to achieve their best through excellent teaching, a comprehensive curriculum and a wide variety of experiences.

We are looking for a qualified Nurse to provide an effective, high quality nursing service to ensure children and young people of all abilities are healthy and know how to stay safe.  The role is supported by another part time, highly competent school nurse, specialist speech and language therapy, audiologist and complex special educational needs co-ordinator.  Children and young people also enjoy a range of support from specialist services including mental health and counselling providing a holistic, child-centred approach to ensure all pupils develop a positive sense of identity.  The pattern of hours is flexible and will be discussed and agreed with the successful applicant.

Applicants must be qualified a Nurse and ideally already hold British Sign Language skills however opportunities for training are available.

This role is a Regulated Activity and the appointment subject to safeguarding in recruitment checks including an enhanced criminal record disclosure.
