Post-registration Surgical Nursing Course Open Day

Southampton, Hampshire

Are you looking for investment and individualised well thought-out career development? Then we would love to see you at our General Surgery open day on the 7 October 2017. On this day there will be the chance to meet our welcoming and passionate staff and talk to them about our work and the opportunities we have on offer, ranging from Health Care Support Workers to Ward Managers as our service grows and develops. Our care group video gives you a taste of our ethos ‘One Team Together’ which can be found on the UHS website under Working here/Types of job/Surgery – working for us.

The structured career development programme for registered nurses involves an 18-month University affiliated Principles of Surgical Nursing Course POSN (1st in the UK), where you would experience being a part of a rotation into emergency and/or elective general surgical nursing teams.

Apprenticeships would be available for those staff wanting a vocational pathway to become a registered nurse. Clinical practice is supported by established teams which involve, Education, Practice development, Audit and Risk teams ensuring that investment in you.

We are enormously proud of our Consultant colleagues who are nationally and international renowned for their pioneering work, along with our excellent sustained patient quality metrics, which was endorsed by the recent CQC visit.

There is an opportunity to combine your visit with an interview on the day, if you are interested in joining our team then please submit an application by 30 September.

Informal enquiries are welcomed by the Surgical Matrons: Tracy Richards 023 8120 4630 and Joanne Rigby 023 8120 4430.
