Our Substance Misuse Service seeks to work holistically with Service Users based on individualised packages of care identified at the outset through Comprehensive Assessment and Recovery Planning. We deliver a menu of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both a group and 1-1 setting with support to recover from addiction at the centre of our model.

Our team is multi-disciplinary in approach to ensure the perfect skill mix to best meet the needs of Service Users; we are currently seeking dynamic, motivated and creative team players to join the recovery focussed substance misuse team within healthcare at HMP Hewell. This is an exciting time to support and motivate individuals to take control of their lives and make changes to overcome dependence on substances and move onto a life free of offending.

About the Job

You'll support prisoners with Substance Misuse problems primarily located within HMP Hewell and. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with the clinical team and autonomously on the wings managing your caseload.

You'll carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available. In addition you'll be expected to hold a caseload as case manager, working with individuals on a 1-1 basis providing advice and information, release planning and facilitating group work sessions.

You will have an understanding and commitment to recovery and a person centred approach. The Substance Misuse Team will be part of the Healthcare department which includes physical and mental health, in order to provide holistic and joined up services we require individuals to have the ability to work effectively as part of a multi professional team within a fast pace environment, in line with the protocols and policies of the local Service and Care UK.

Skills & Experience

• Experience of work with Substance Misusers
• Knowledge and experience of Psychosocial Interventions
• Group work delivery
• Experience of working both autonomously and within a multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to gain the appropriate level of service user consent

Further Job Information

This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday and approx 1 Saturday in 8 on a rota basis.

• Health and Social Care NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent)
• Substantial knowledge and experience of Substance Misuse and a commitment to undertake further training
• Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
