Vacancy: Critical Care Flight Nurses (ICU)

Appointment: x4 Full time positions,

Minimum 6 – 12 month contract

Capital Air Ambulance is the UK’s largest and busiest international air ambulance service and is undergoing further growth with the recent addition of new aircraft. We are looking for FOUR full time critical care nurses to support our worldwide air ambulance operations.

Flight Nurse Full-time permanent contract combining office operations tasks with flying duties. Opportunities available at both Birmingham and Exeter Airports.

Salary: NHS Band 7 pay equivalent, with additional flight pay for duties in excess of full time hours

Person Requirements

Essential Criteria

• Full and unrestricted registration in the United Kingdom
• At least 5 years post registration experience as a registered nurse
• At least 3 years experience in a critical care environment with confidence and familiarity in transportation of ventilated and inotrope/pressor-dependent patients
• Able to demonstrate currency in ICU/ Critical Care
• An approved postgraduate ICU/Critical Care qualification
• Resuscitation training (ALS within the past 4 years or ILS within the last year)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Enthusiasm and commitment
• Physical fitness for aeromedical work
• Ability to work efficiently under stressful conditions

Desired Criteria

• Previous experience in aeromedical transportation of critically ill or injured patients
• CCAT basic (foundation level or Advanced) course, or equivalent
• European languages would be advantageous
