The Faculty of Life Sciences and Education, School of Care Sciences, is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Critical Care to join an existing team of academic staff and to contribute to a range of modules and courses across pre and post registration provision and programmes of scholarly activity and research. The post holder will support the Course Leaders for the Bachelor of Nursing Programmes and the Post Graduate Certificate/BSC (Hons) Acute and Critical Care and assume the role of module manager, course leader and practice placement link for a number of clinical areas.
The post holder must have three years or more post-registration professional experience of delivering and managing services for the acutely and critically ill adult, have skill and confidence in primary and holistic assessment and diagnostic techniques, comprehensive care and management interventions, and the legal and professional implications of delivering healthcare services in urgent and unscheduled clinical contexts. The post holder must have active registration with an appropriate professional body and have current experience of facilitating the learning of students across a range of settings.
The focus of this post is on both undergraduate and post graduate specialist acute and critical care teaching and assessment activity, with depth of focus on primary and holistic assessment of the acutely and critically ill, diagnostic techniques, comprehensive care and management interventions, and the legal and professional implications of delivering healthcare services in urgent and unscheduled clinical contexts. This post also contains potential for post graduate course leadership, module leadership for both pre-registration undergraduate and specialized critical care modules, managing and maintaining established relationships with practice placement environments and supporting the Pre-registration Team, Critical Care Team and Placement Innovation Officer to find new practice placements across Partner Health Boards, independent providers and various third sector organisations.
The post holder will be based at the Glyntaff Campus.
