The Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal is a specialist provider of complex mental health services, providing clinical excellence in our eating disorders, adolescent, rehabilitation and PICU services.

We have vacancies in all four of our services: CAMHS, Eating Disorders, PICU and Adult. Please indicate which service you would like to apply to work in.

We are looking to recruit individuals with a genuine interest in making a difference to people’s lives.  Working as a mental health nurse you will be expected to –

•           Be part of a large multi-disciplinary team providing safe and effective care for individuals with complex mental illness.

•           Act as a key worker

•           Observe / respond to patient behaviours on the ward which may include self harm and acts of aggression.

•           Formulate risk assessments and care plans to meet individual needs.

•           Medication management.

•           Act as shift co-ordinator, allocating staff and having the ability to oversee the work of junior staff and colleagues.

•           Maintain the safety of patients and staff.

•           Ensure good quality of patient documentation which meets regulatory guidance and statutory requirements.

•           Work within the NMC Code of Conduct and practice guidelines.

The successful candidate will undertake and manage direct patient care, having participated fully in the assessment, planning and evaluation of care needs. Undertaking the delivery of care, including individual and group sessions to agreed quality standards as prescribed by internal procedure and health legislation.

 

Qualifications:

RMN - First level registration, post preceptorship with a minimum of 1 years experience with ability to work unsupervised.

Experience:

The successful candidate will have acquired experience through professional training in a related environment.

Personal Qualities:

Communication and interpersonal skills form a key feature of the role.

Responsibilities:

The allocation and the ability to oversee work of junior colleagues and staff. Care, security and maintenance of equipment, drugs and other consumables on the ward/department.

Shared responsibility for the confidentiality, security and accuracy of patient records, data and information. Ensuring good quality patient documentation, which meets Regulatory guidelines and statutory requirements.

Benefits include Annual leave entitlement of 33 days (includes 8 bank/public holidays), with additional leave for long service, a contributory pension.
