Galway University Hospital comprises of University Hospital Galway and Merlin Park Hospital, both located within Galway city on the West Coast of Ireland. The Saolta University Health Care Group was established in 2013 and has one overall Group Management Team, turnover of €820 million and operates with 1,781 beds and staffing of 8,694 WTEs.

Galway University Hospital is the tertiary referral centre and is the largest hospital with over 500 beds. It is also a designated supra-regional cancer service provider meeting the needs of all the counties along the Western seaboard and towards the midlands from Donegal to North Tipperary.

Our Academic Partner is the National University of Ireland Galway. This post is a key post and post holder will work in collaboration with other professionals and service managers delivering excellent integrated patient centred care and achieving the service goals of The Saolta University Health Care Group.
