Description: A Surrey-based charity who are committed to providing life-transforming services to people with disabilities are now taking applications for a Head of Nursing and Rehab role. They work with over 4,000 disabled children and adults every year with physical or learning disabilities or acquired brain injuries. Whether it’s gaining new skills to live independently, rehabilitation after a brain injury or stroke, or improving independence through increased mobility and accessible holidays; this charity helps disabled people to fulfil their potential in life.

We are looking for a registered general nurse to join their existing team and head up their nursing and rehabilitation department, part of their Neuro Rehabilitation Services (‘NRS’)  based in Banstead.  

NRS offers neurorehabilitation and transitional support to clients after a stroke or other acquired brain injury.  Our specialist multi-disciplinary team provides residential or outpatient therapies to those with physical, cognitive and/or communication disabilities, which may also include mild to moderate behavioural problems.     We have a diverse range of one-to-one support programmes, tailored to help improve social and functional abilities as well as support for that important move home and back to education or work.

 

NRS is proud to be a chosen provider for the Training Nurse Associate Programme, providing two trainee nurse associates with a six month secondment to gain skills, knowledge and experience of working in neuro rehabilitation alongside a multi-disciplinary team of qualified physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and clinical psychologists as well as a team of experienced rehabilitation staff.

The successful candidate will work closely with the multi-disciplinary leadership team to help develop and deliver specialist neuro and stroke rehabilitation of the highest quality to adults with an acquired brain injury or a neurological condition, and their families.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • To lead and manage the nursing and care staff to ensure clients receive care that is safe, effective, responsive, caring and well led.
    • Integrate the nursing care of clients in the overall rehabilitation plan of clients so that care is person centred.
    • Opportunity to balance professional development with personal satisfaction of working closing with clients and our highly specialist multi-disciplinary team to develop general and specific rehabilitation strategies for clients and ensuring they are put into practice.

Person Specification: Applicants must hold a first level registration in General Nursing          ( RGN ) or Learning Disabilities ( RNLD ) within the UK as well as a current, valid PIN.
