School of Nursing and Midwifery
The School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Plymouth is a provider of first class contemporary education, informed by research and innovation. We are at the forefront of developing and delivering a contemporary and dynamic MSc in Advanced Professional Practice that offers students a robust framework to pursue a career in clinical practice. We are proud of our close links with our clinical partners across the Southwest who have been instrumental in this development to ensure that our programme meets the needs of service in the modern NHS.
The school is looking for an exceptional individual with experience and enthusiasm for Advanced Practice to join the existing team as we expand our provision across the Peninsula. We are committed to providing students with innovative and high quality postgraduate programmes that meet the needs of clinicians and service, which prepare the next generation of advanced practitioners across clinical disciplines to deliver high quality, safe, competent and evidenced based practice for their patients.
We encourage applications from highly motivated individuals, who hold current registration as an Adult Nurse on Sub Part 1 of the Nursing and Midwifery Council register, or hold registration the Health and Care Provisions Council; you should have or are working towards a Higher Degree in health or a related subject. A recognised qualification in advanced practice is preferred but we recognise that other qualifications can also offer the necessary knowledge and expertise to teach at this level and these will be assessed on an individual basis. If you do not hold a recognised Higher Education teaching qualification, you will be expected to undertake and complete this during the probation period. You will have current experience as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, working in any sector of health.
This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis, part-time hours will be considered for a suitable candidate.
The post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check and regular travel will be required.
