REMEMBER WHY YOU BECAME A NURSE?

Want to get back to delivering truly patient focused care and still have time to enjoy life in a unique setting ?

Set in the South Atlantic Ocean, the Falkland Islands benefits from unique wildlife, negligible pollution, low crime rates, the absence of traffic jams, a varied social calendar and the close proximity of South America and Antarctica as holiday destinations.
Our Health Services are all based in Stanley, (the Islands’ capital). The secondary care element has 29 beds and provides in-patient care to all patients needing admission, whether new-borns or adults, residents or visiting tourists and foreign nationals.
The hospital caseload includes those with serious illnesses, trauma, coronary conditions, mental health problems, maternity, emergency and elective surgery, palliative and terminal care.

The new colleagues we are looking to join the existing team of friendly and experienced professionals include:

STAFF NURSES
Do you have NMC registration or equivalent, at least 1 year post-registration experience? Do you have good written and verbal communication skills, a ‘can-do’ attitude and enjoy giving good nursing care?
Whatever your interest, whether general nursing or if you have a specialty qualification, you will find a varied and interesting role here; with an opportunity to provide excellent nursing care for your patients.

THEATRE PRACTITIONERS
If you have a 1st level degree in theatre enabling current registration with NMC/AHP (or equivalent), evidence of continuing professional development meeting revalidation requirements and possess significant experience in planning, delivering and evaluating care for patients across a range of clinical areas this is the job for you!

THE PACKAGE
Salary: ££ Competitive (starting salaries will depend on qualifications and experience).

Other Benefits: Includes a 25% end of contract gratuity set against a favourable tax regime, in addition to relocation and flight package, and 41 days leave (inclusive of public holidays).

Contract Type: 2 year fixed term appointments with the possibility of extension by mutual agreement. In return for your passion, creativity and hard work, we offer a real opportunity to help people optimise health within the resources of our beautiful islands.

When asked what they enjoy about working in such roles previous post holders have said:

“Being able to nurse in different specialities - this really
would not be possible in the UK”

“Less patient-to-nurse ratio which means more time for
patients and better care delivery”

If you have the qualifications and skills we ask for, a sense of adventure and a true desire to make a real difference to your patients’ lives, APPLY NOW !
