Clinical Healthcare Trainers

We are looking for independent healthcare trainers who:

  • Are registered nurses with current NMC registration and 2 years’ post-registration experience, or other suitably qualified health practitioners.
  • Have an adaptable approach to running group training and one to one sessions in people’s homes.

Remuneration:

Competitive rates negotiated individually, depending on skills and experience.

We offer customised and bespoke training and are constantly developing new courses. This means we’re happy to hear from trainers with skills and experience in a range of clinical and non-clinical areas.

Our ideal candidates will:

  • Run engaging training courses for individuals and groups, working to agreed standards and learning materials.
  • Deliver training in varied locations including health and social care settings, and in people’s homes.
  • Be flexible in how and when you work.
  • Monitor learning outcomes and give productive feedback.
  • Provide short-term post-course support to trainees when needed.
  • Be meticulous in completing and updating administration records.
  • Have a positive, upbeat personality, and an enthusiasm for Heron and Gull’s development.

  • Airways management
  • Manual handling
  • Care Certificate
  • Manual chest physiotherapy
  • Continence care
  • Medicines management
  • Diabetes management
  • Oral suctioning
  • Epilepsy
  • Urostomy care
  • Infection control
  • Venepuncture
  • Gastrostomy feeding and care
  • Wound care

We need every applicant to have:

  • Self-regard for continuing professional development, and keeping qualifications and skills updated.
  • A willingness to travel within a mutually agreed area/region.
  • Appropriate insurance.
  • An understanding of health and social care.

The experience, skills and abilities we need:

  • Confident presenters who can communicate effectively with people with clinical and non-clinical knowledge, and with diverse learners from different backgrounds.
  • The discipline, dedication and motivation to work autonomously.
  • High level of ability to respond positively to challenges.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Evaluation skills to assess trainees, course impact, and learning outcomes.
  • Familiarity with training one-to-one and/or training in small groups.
  • Experience of assessing competencies against a set framework of national standards.
  • A training qualification – while not essential, it’s an asset to your application.

You will have an adaptable approach to running training, often in people’s homes and courses will vary from one-to-one tuition to small group sessions.
