Job Description

As a member of our Bank Midwives, you will be allocated shift in either the nurse-led or consultant-led units at The Portland Hospital depending on where there is a need for additional support. Your key role will be to provide antenatal, intranatal and postnatal care to all women during their in-patient stay. Shift patterns and working hours will vary depending on your availability and the demands of the business.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provision of antenatal, intranatal and postnatal care
  • Provide midwifery advice to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to women and their families, in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Ensure that all patient care is documented accurately
  • Maintain high standards within the patient environment
  • Skills & Experience

  • NMC Registered as a Midwife
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience as a Midwife within a UK hospital setting
  • Basic Adult and Newborn Life Support is essential and ALSO and NALS qualification
  • WHO baby friendly trained is desirable
  • Understanding of Child Protection
