The local hospice for Bath and parts of Wiltshire and Somerset

This is an exciting new post at Dorothy House Hospice, which will give an innovative and inspirational nurse who is looking to extend their experience the opportunity to work within an established team.

Dorothy House Hospice is currently celebrating 40 years of delivering exceptional care to patients and their families. We were awarded ‘Outstanding’ by CQC in 2017.  In recent years we have expanded out services vastly, and the future development of our strategy will see us extend our care to more patients and families.

You will have a passion for palliative care and will be able to demonstrate working at advanced practice level, however your outstanding feature must be that you are a dynamic, highly motivated individual who wants to make a difference both personally and professionally to patients who require palliative and end of life care and for their families/carers.

You will have experience of managing and leading service development, managing staff, and developing and delivering education for staff in both a group and individual 1:1 situations.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a proven track record of innovative practice and delivering change through service development.  The ability to demonstrate effectiveness through audit and presentation is essential and you must be able to communicate with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, including patients, families, commissioners and community partners.

Working closely with the Executive Clinical Lead Inpatient Services (ECLIPS) and the Medical Director you will be joining at a very exciting time as we are working towards the next 40 years at Dorothy House Hospice.

You will be pivotal to shaping future service provision and identifying staff resource and training requirements.

Good IT skills are essential, however on-going training can also be provided.

Could you make a real difference to patients and their families by joining Dorothy House Hospice? Is this the job for YOU?
