Director of Midwifery (1 WTE)

Wexford General Hospital is a busy Level 3 acute general hospital and is part of the Ireland East Hospital Group (IEHG) which is affiliated with UCD as our academic partners. WGH is partnered with Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) for the training of undergraduate nurses, BSc student nurses and for BSc in applied science students and with UCD for the undergraduate BSc student midwives.

The hospital provides acute general and maternity services to the population of Co. Wexford and its surrounding counties. The county of Wexford alone has a population area of 149,605 (2016 CSO). The nursing workforce accounts for 376 nurses and 82 midwives along with approx. 80 HCAs and operatives. The ED attendance was 44,466, with overall admissions to the hospital as 15,509 (2016 figures).
