Are you a registered nurse who values the importance of listening to patients and empowering them to play an active part in their own care? We are recruiting to our nurse team on the Macmillan Support Line and would love to hear from you.

Our Cancer Information Nurse Specialists on the Macmillan Support Line talk to people every day to help them understand their cancer diagnosis, treatments, side effects, and how to cope during and after cancer. People affected by cancer tell us that having the information and support they need makes a world of difference to them.

Recognising you as a Macmillan Professional, we will offer the opportunity to develop your knowledge and give you experience in an environment where you will become expert in providing information to people affected by cancer. We will help you develop skills in a multi-channel environment and gain valuable experience from working in a growing and exciting area of clinical care.

You will be a resource for colleagues in Macmillan who will draw on your background to ensure the charity is focused on the needs of people affected by cancer. A registered nurse, you will understand what good communication looks like and would be willing to develop clinical information and support skills through telephony and digital channels.

In return for the commitment and skills you’ll bring to our friendly, supportive and high-performing team, we will commit to actively developing you in the role. We offer excellent benefits including continuing to contribute to NHS pension schemes, paid registration fees, CPD and revalidation support, private medical insurance, life assurance, childcare vouchers, generous annual leave, and interest-free loans for season ticket and gym membership.

We want to be there for more people living with and affected by cancer at their time of need.  We are currently going through a period of change to consider extending opening hours, which includes evening and weekend working. Clarity about any change in opening hours will be given at interview. There are part-time and full-time posts available.

We would be happy to talk to you about the role or arrange an informal visit before interview so you can understand the service we provide. An informal visit before interview is recommended.

To arrange an informal visit, or if you have any questions, please contact Kate Goldie on kgoldie@macmillan.org.uk or Kim Hardwick on khardwick@macmillan.org.uk.
