District Nurse Team Leader

Job Reference: 267-CHDNTL6

Salary: £26,565 to £35,577 pa

We are offering an exceptional opportunity to registered nurses who have leadership and management experience!

  • You will have the opportunity to become the clinical and operational lead for a team of community nurses, caring for complex, frail people in the community
  • We’ll invest in you, both financially and professionally, to develop you into a Specialist Practitioner in Community Nursing in the home (District Nursing)
  • You will undertake a masters level advanced diploma, including advanced nursing practice skills, full-time for a year at Oxford Brookes University

As a Team Leader, you will be passionate about leading a team of Community Nurses, Nursing Students, Assistant Practitioners, Health Care Assistants and administrators to deliver holistic District Nursing care to a caseload of patients living in their own homes and residential care homes, as part of a multi-professional integrated locality team.

We need strong and resilient leaders who can work autonomously, see problem solving as a positive challenge, and be creative in many varied and unpredictable clinical situations.

In return we will support your career progression into the Band 6 Team Leader role and beyond, through a District Nursing career progression framework, including a District Nursing induction programme, regular 1:1 support and development and annual appraisal from your Band 7 Clinical Development Lead, regular group clinical supervision with your peers, and a comprehensive internal training programme around clinical competencies.

The District Nursing service in Oxfordshire is at the heart of developments in the Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP) in Oxfordshire, which is moving towards the principles in the national Five Year Forward View. At the heart of these integration plans is recognition of the value of the District Nurse Specialist Practitioner Qualification, as advocated by The Queen’s Nursing Institute, The King’s Fund and the RCN.

Roles are available across Oxfordshire, including Henley, Wallingford, Carterton, Witney, Bicester and Banbury.

For further information or an informal discussion, please call Gabbie Parham on 07833 295413.

Closing date: 22 August 2018
