Complete Care are currently recruiting for Rapid Responses Nurses in Cardiff. This is a field based role so you must be a driver & have access to your own vehicle. This is a permanent role working 24 hours per week, 12 hour shifts. Either 8am to 8pm or 8pm to 8am.

Pay Rate: £13.60 + Night & Weekend Enhancements

The role of the Rapid Response Nurse is to respond to the care needs and provide effective supervision and co-ordination of the care teams within the allocated region. To ensure the professional delivery of a high-quality cost effective complex care service. To ensure that the complex care teams are fully compliant with all policies, procedures and regulation and that all business objectives and targets are met.

Duties Include:

  • Undertake risk assessment and other assessments appropriate to the allocated packages and own knowledge as delegated by the Clinical Nurse Specialist;
  • Assist the Clinical Nurse Specialist with hospital discharge arrangements and the development of new packages of care as required;
  • Assist the Clinical Nurse Specialist with the competency sign offs of all Personal Care Assistants.
  • Personally, deliver and deliver by delegation a high quality complex care service to and their families within the region in accordance with CQC and other professional bodies;
  • Respond to a staffing crisis in any of the region’s care packages by providing support to the client and their family and the Personal Care assistants. Give guidance by telephone and when appropriate in person;
  • Provide cover personally when other options within the allocated team are not available during a staffing crisis;
  • Work with the Team Leader and Clinical Nurse Specialist to ensure a high level of client satisfaction through excellent and sensitive communication, empathy, ability to manage complex relationships, proactively managing expectations and creating solutions for the clients;
  • Provide reassurance and instil confidence in the service;
  • Troubleshoot service delivery problems;
  • Play a role in the continuous development of the Complex care service and the company;
  • Uphold the Complete Care values in service delivery, recruitment, undertaking risk assessments, induction training and co- ordination of the day to day running of the packages in the region.
  • Undertake investigations of incidents within the packages as delegated by the Clinical Nurse Specialist. This will include involvement in the development and implementation of action planning;
  • Work with the Clinical Nurse Specialist to ensure that the team are fully trained and competent to perform their role with up to date training records to evidence induction, current mandatory and extended skills training;
  • Plan and deliver training to personal assistants and others as appropriate within each package to include record keeping and other tasks as delegated by the Clinical Nurse Specialist;
  • Work with and be part of the team rota to ensure that all shifts are covered, maintaining full responsibility for safe coverage of care by appropriately skilled staff;

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Confident manner, with the ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally;
  • At least 1 year post qualified experience as a Band 5 Nurse
  • Good English Literacy skills;
  • Strong Organisational skills to include risk management;
  • A passion and enthusiasm for promoting and supporting care within the family home for Clients with complex healthcare needs;
  • Good Understanding of CQC standards;

  • Car driver essential
  • Flexible and adaptable to work across multiple sites and on various projects.
  • Subject to Enhanced DBS check and references.
