Job Description

We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Clinical Governance Lead to join our HCA Primary Care team, reporting into the Chief Nursing Officer with a dotted line into Corporate Governance.

This is a Full Time and Permanent Post primarily based at 58 New Broad Street in London with some expected travel to Client sites.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To support the coordination and process of investigations for complaints and incidents ensuring that all matters are reported and resolved within the regulatory timeframe.
  • Implementation and operational management of the risk management framework and process for the local service.
  • Managing the process for proactive identification and assessment of the actual and potential risks affecting the business.
  • To lead on the implementation, ongoing assessment and compliance with CQC standards, working closely with teams, professional leads and managers to ensure broad understanding and ownership.
  • To act as lead for health and safety and security, ensuring appropriate resource and skills are in place to deliver professional and reliable advice at a strategic and operational level.
  • To develop and maintain the risk register providing details of new risks, changes and reduction in risk to relevant sub committees / and meetings whose functions include the escalation, management and monitoring of risk.
  • Provide specialist clinical governance and service quality advice relating to patient care across the full range of clinical services, using research results and guidelines to provide judgments where care practices or opinion may differ.
  • Responsible for ensuring the local facility has an effective complaints function that complies with national complaints regulation and guidance

Skills & Experience

  • Degree /Professional Qualification
  • Postgraduate qualification/Masters or equivalent in-depth training and/or significant experience in risk, governance or compliance
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Demonstrable previous success in delivering a comprehensive governance agenda within a complex organisation
  • Well-developed leadership and influencing skills with the ability to enthuse, motivate and involve individuals and team
  • Knowledge of the compliance and governance requirements for the private sector
  • Experience of managing and updating large, complex databases.
