Person Specification: They currently have an exciting role for an Enteral Nurse Specialist to join their caring and dynamic nursing team.

The successful person will work as an advanced practitioner with a high level of skill and expertise within the sphere of enteral feeding management across all wards. The role will encompass comprehensive patient assessment as part of the pre-admission process and will provide clinical expertise, support nurses caring for varied Enteral feeding tubes ensuring current guidelines are in place and adhered to.

As the Clinical Nurse Specialist you will provide enteral feeding tube management and expertise to the multi-disciplinary clinical and nursing teams, educating both patients and their families/carers and all nursing and clinical staff within the hospital. You will work to provide advanced care to patients receiving nutritional and gastrostomy related support and be available to support nurses caring for PEG and enteral feed patients, whilst also leading educational sessions and reviewing current feeding policies alongside other members of the team (i.e. dietitian, pharmacist and consultant).

The Enteral Nurse Specialist will be instrumental in training nurses on new and evidence based procedures linked to enteral feeding and PEG feeding. To succeed in this role, you will challenge current practice and ensure that the care we provide is innovative and best practice. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will also act as a role model and advisor for complex cases for families, nurses and the wider MDT. You will be a Registered Nurse with extensive advanced experience of managing enteral feeding tubes, have demonstrable leadership experience and the ability to develop others.

You will be a forward thinking practitioner with an expert knowledge of current developments in the field of Enteral Feeding.
