Are you looking for a new challenge?
The UH Bristol cardiac surgery research team has seen an increase in research activity.
We are therefore looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic nurse to join our friendly cardiovascular clinical trials team, situated at our University hospital in the vibrant and cosmopolitan city of Bristol. Successful candidates will be involved in a range of clinical trials, involving mainly cardiac surgery patients. Experience in cardiac surgery will therefore be essential.
You will be working closely with a large multidisciplinary clinical trials team (including the University of Bristol’s registered clinical trials unit) as well as with patients, carers and clinical staff. Seeing the patients safely through the trials requires lots of patient contact. The role provides the opportunity to be involved in many elements of the trials from study set up through to closure, thus offering the successful candidate the opportunity of playing a key role in introducing new and cutting edge treatments into mainstream care. Full in house training will be provided and additional study opportunities will be available through the regional research network (CRN).
Excellent skills of communication are essential as a key area of the job is to assist in the informed consent process.
A sound knowledge of cardiac surgery and attention to detail are essential to ensure accurate and comprehensive conduct within clinical trials.
