Senior Sister/Senior Charge Nurse

£33,222 to £43,041 pa

Location: Essex

Ref: 918-BN3536

Have you ever thought about where the blood that you transfuse comes from? Are you looking for a leadership role, wanting to further develop your management skills? Want to lead a team who work with people in the heart of the community? If so come and work for us.

We save lives but we don’t work in hospitals. No two days are the same in this fast moving and variable environment. Our teams work in static Donor Centres facilitating blood and platelet donations and also travel out to the community where our donors attend our mobile teams.

As a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse you will work closely with the Area Manager/Matron providing visible leadership to a Blood Donation team. You will ensure that high quality, safe and effective care is provided at all times. You will need to juggle management and clinical priorities ensuring the smooth running of the team and a balanced delivery of high performance across a wide range of clinical and operational standards and regulatory compliance.

In this autonomous role, you will lead from the front and work alongside your team acting as a role model, demonstrating what it takes to deliver a great donor experience.

No prior specialist clinical knowledge is required for this band 7 role however we are looking for a senior nurse with some management experience. If you are able to work independently, lead with compassion and resilience, and are excited by the prospect of enabling change in a fast moving environment, then this is the job for you. We will provide you with the training you need to enable you to attain NHSBT’s Management Passport with access to a wide range of leadership development opportunities and career progression.

An informal discussion is essential and a session visit desirable.  To arrange an informal discussion and session visit please contact Steve Mills, Area Manager – South Anglia at Steve.mills@nhsbt.nhs.uk.

The advert will close for applications at midnight on the evening of Sunday 28th October.
