Staff Nurse - Palliative Care
Salary: Circa £25,500 Plus Enhancements 30% - 60%
Location: Welwyn Garden City, Herts

This is an exciting time to be joining our client's Hospice. They have recently unveiled their 5 year strategic plan, Together We Care, and will be investing significantly in their clinical services, with £0.5 million in the first year alone. Their vision is a world where communities talk openly about death and dying, everyone lives life to the full and dies with dignity in the place of their choice knowing their loved ones are supported.

By joining their team you will be part of this vision and will help them to reach more patients, earlier in their journey, educate those around them by sharing their expertise, and collaborate with others, building partnerships to benefit our patients and their families.

Their In Patient Unit is a small unit, with a high staff to patient ratio, giving the opportunity to practice person centred care for patients and also their families. You will assess individual care needs and develop appropriate care plans using a holistic approach, working as part of the multi-disciplinary team. You will also maintain accurate nursing records and provide support to Health Care Assistants and students. As part of your development you will also spend time on rotation in the Community setting, seeing patients in their own homes.

To be considered for this post you will need to be a Level 1 registered nurse and interested in developing your skills in a palliative care setting. Previous experience of working with terminally ill patients or in an oncology setting would be desirable but not essential. You will need to be flexible and a good team player and able to work a range of shifts including earlies, lates, nights across weekdays, weekends and bank holidays on a shift basis.
