You:

You’re a compassionate, can-do person with experience supporting older people. You already have an interest in Health and Social Care. Now you’re ambitious to progress further. You’re good at using your initiative and working well under pressure. To you, it’s more than just a job. It’s a role where you happily go the extra mile to make a difference to the lives of older, frail people. In return, you get excellent support, quality training and fast-track career opportunities from one of the UK’s leading care home providers.

Your role:

Residents are at the heart of everything we do. As part of a close-knit, friendly team, you’ll assist them with their physical and emotional needs. More than just a carer, you’ll be a true friend who champions their dignity and respects their independence. From day one, we’ll help you progress and take on more responsibility. For example, you’ll be involved in developing individual care plans and supporting new colleagues. To succeed, you’ll need to be able to think on your feet, prioritise your own workload and keep accurate records. We’ll give you ongoing support and quality training to build your career.

As a Care Assistant at Care UK, you can look forward to:

  • Competitive pay – we pay more than the average
  • Option to apply for Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship
  • Fast-track career options, e.g. into nursing or management roles
  • Quality training to develop your skills
  • Flexible hours, including a choice of day, night or weekend shifts
  • Bank holiday enhancements
  • Stakeholder pension
  • Childcare vouchers
  • Free uniform
  • Thousands of online and in-store discounts

About Care UK:

We run over 120 homes and day clubs across the UK. We provide residential, nursing, dementia and end-of-life care for older people. As one of the UK’s leading care home providers, our goal is to help every employee fulfil his or her potential – with first-class training and support

Please note that this position is based in Hendon, Greater London and we are looking for suitable candidates within a commutable distance to NW4 3TH.

At Elmstead House, you can expect a warm welcome from our friendly and professional team.

Elmstead House is a welcoming care home in Hendon, Greater London. We work in partnership with Barnet CCG to provide personalised nursing and residential care for older people living with Alzheimer's, other forms of dementia or mental health needs.

Our team has specialist expertise in caring for individuals with the most complex care needs and we also offer sensitive and supportive end of life care.

Living at Elmstead House is about being and feeling part of a community. When a new resident arrives at the home, we put time and effort into helping them to settle and feel comfortable. Many members of our team have worked here for more than 10 years, so residents can be sure of a familiar face. Residents are able to move about the home as they wish and have the space to choose what they'd like to do.

A lot of the care we provide is on a one-to-one basis. And we’re always there for residents’ families too, by offering comforting support to anyone that needs it.

Company

At Care UK, we treat everyone as individuals so they can live fulfilling, rewarding and happy lives and we recognise that taking the first step on the journey into care can be daunting.

We are proud to be the most awarded care home provider for the last three years, and we have more outstanding rated homes than any other provider. Independence is not about where you live, but how you live, so if you’re considering care for yourself or a loved one,  discover why we’ve been trusted to care for over 40 years.
