Job Details

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified, dynamic and passionate Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our oncology/haematology team.

The post holder will work at least 80% in direct clinical care. Working within the scope of practice as an autonomous advanced nurse practitioner. The successful candidate will join an existing team of two experienced nurse practitioners and two trainee ANPs and will work across the oncology/haematology unit which includes clinic, inpatient ward and a nurse led day care. In addition a significant part of your role would be coordinating care for the child and young person with cancer across the shared care hospitals and community settings, helping to ensure high quality seamless care is given throughout the patient’s journey.

You will help support the Lead Cancer Nurse in providing clinical leadership, education, supervision and development to the oncology/haematology team.

Applicants will have a recognised paediatric advanced nurse practitioner qualification with extensive paediatric experience and have the ability to negotiate and influence care across the directorate and oncology/haematology unit. The post is advertised as a band 8a but dependant on skills and experience a band 7 may be considered for a probationary period until competencies achieved.

The organisation can offer a wide range of developmental support to the successful candidate, which would be tailored to their needs. This can range from support to present at/attend local, national and international conferences or undertaking specific courses.

If you are dynamic, organised, work well within the multidisciplinary team and have an interest in caring for children and young people with cancer we would like to hear from you.

Any informal visits/discussions welcome.
