These are exciting times for the unit as we implement plans for service development and growth and as such we are looking for highly motivated, senior staff nurse join our Haematology daycase team and help us to continue to deliver and build upon, excellence in care and service delivery. We offer low nurse to patient ratio where you will have the opportunity to delivery exceptional care.

Job Description

As a Senior Staff Nurse working within the haematology day case, you will be responsible for working in a supporting experienced nursing team to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of specialist care to ensure that oncology patients are cared for in a safe, caring and comfortable environment. This will include meeting their medical, physical and emotional needs by effectively communicating with the patient and their families.

This is a full time role working 37.5hrs per week on internal rotation to include days, nights and weekends.

Please note this is a fixed term contract for 1 year.
The attractive and competitive salary for this role is between £35,822 - £40,401 (dependent upon skills and experience) plus 4% enhancement.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and deliver care to meet patient and family needs
• Act as a clinical role model for all members of staff and demonstrate good clinical practice at all times
• Work well within a team, supervising, coaching and developing junior cancer services staff and deputising for the Senior Nursing team when necessary
• Contribute to research based care and other practice development initiatives.
• Promote a progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care and the services offered within our Oncology unit

Skills & Experience

• Registered General Nurse with valid NMC pin
• Substantial post registration experience with an oncology setting or similar
• Mentorship and Preceptorship experience, and a desire to work towards an ENB 998 certificate
• Motivated and forward thinking individual with excellent communication skills
