The Nottingham NHS Treatment Centre is the largest day-case centre in Europe. Role & Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Scrub Nurse/ODP Scrub Practitioner to join the Theatre team working flexibly, as part of the hospital’s clinical theatres’ and recovery team, to provide the highest standards of professional care to or patients; to maintain high standards of communication throughout the hospital, and to make a positive contribution towards the team’s pursuit of excellence.

  • Provide and maintain the highest possible standard of clinical care for our patients, by ensuring a clean safe and well equipped environment for them and the rest of the team.
  • A friendly manner is essential as you will need to be able to communicate with patients and put them at ease during this vulnerable time.
  • Exacting attention to detail and ensuring that your documentation is accurate and up to date is key to managing our patients care and delivery of the best outcome.
  • Providing the highest standards of professional care as required within each of our care settings.
  • Preparing operating theatres/anaesthetic rooms for surgery as required. To include sterile instrumentation, equipment and supplies required for specific operative procedures, ensuring appropriate use of resources and minimal waste. In the case of anaesthetics ensure all necessary and emergency equipment is available and in full working order.
  • Contributing to team working throughout the theatres’ suite to ensure best use of staff resources across all areas and in line with scheduling requirements

Person Specification:

  • RGN or ODP qualification
  • SFA – desirable but not essential
  • Evidence of CPD
  • ALS Provider desirable
  • Reliable and Trustworthy
