Occupational Health Nurse (Mental Health)

37 hours

PO1 (£31,995 – £34,614)

This is a new role within South Wales Police and is part of our on-going commitment to support police officers and staff who are experiencing psychological ill health. You will carry a caseload and accept referrals where mental health or stress is the presenting issue. You will offer occupational health advice around adjustments and the support in the workplace and signpost to counselling or other support if appropriate, but would not counsel clients. You may already, or could be trained, to trauma debrief and work alongside our Counselling & Trauma Advisors to provide debriefs and psychological screening for high risk roles as a more proactive element of your role. There is likely to be a mix of face-to-face assessments, telephone and on-line advice. You will also have the confidence to develop, prepare and deliver electronic presentations to all levels of staff throughout South Wales Police. You will be located within Occupational Health, Safety & Wellbeing and may be expected to travel across the Force’s area and on occasions may be required to work outside normal office hours.

Closing date: noon, 27th February 2019 (midday).
