Are you a highly experienced Senior Nurse looking for a challenging new role? Functioning as a clinical expert and leader this post will be required to work closely with our senior leadership team in managing day to day services across hospital, home and hospice care. We require an energetic, highly visible nurse to work across the organisation to influence strategic developments in the new commissioning environment.

Hours:

37.5 hours per week – with flexibility to work evenings/weekends as required.

A little bit about us

We are an independent hospice supporting a community of 300,000 people in Swindon, Marlborough and North Wiltshire, and the villages of Lechlade and Fairford in Gloucestershire. It is the only dedicated provider of specialist end of life care services within the area. The Hospice’s multi-professionals teams support people in the community, in care homes, at the Great Western Hospital and at the Hospice in Wroughton. Care is also extended to the families and friends of patients.

What is the role?

This is a senior leadership role across all of our services, providing clinical and managerial leadership to clinical staff, acting as a role model to inspire, motivate and empower nurses to ensure excellence in patient care across the organisation.

You will be work with various teams across the Hospice including the Board of Trustees, Directors, Patient Services staff as well as community services to manage the day to day services across the hospice care. Your specific line management responsibilities will be for our team of clinical nurse specialists. You will have operational and strategic responsibility for the Hospital to Home teams and promote the openness and transparency across Hospice Services. You will contribute to the delivery of Patient Services’ strategy to reach and influence care through clinical leadership and by participating in education and training and audit initiatives. You will provide expert advice and influence within the Hospice and to external stakeholders to help shape workforce planning, delivery of safe staffing, business development, service reviews and future pathway planning.

About you:

  • Registered Nurse
  • Masters Level qualification or willingness to undertake this in post
  • Specialist Palliative care qualification
  • Specialist palliative care experience with substantial experience of working at CNS level
  • Non-medical prescriber

It would also be great if you have:

  • Leadership or management qualification
  • Teaching certificate
  • Patient Assessment and Clinical Examination Module (PACE)
