Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN)
Ponteland, Newcastle Upon Tyne
£16.38 per hour plus benefits

  • Are you experienced in supporting older people with complex care needs?
  • Are you an organised, methodical Nurse who is passionate about delivering positive change?
  • Then you can build a fast-moving nursing career with Care UK and help our residents get more out of life every day.

What you’ll do

Leading the care team during your shifts, you will make certain that we fully meet residents’ medical, physical and emotional requirements. Ensuring compliance with our clinical governance framework, you will mentor and motivate colleagues, champion residents’ safety and dignity and drive continuous improvement, whilst acting as Named Nurse for your own portfolio of service users.

Where you’ll work

Our modern, purpose-built care home is situated in the heart of the attractive rural town of Ponteland in Northumberland near Newcastle upon Tyne and is surrounded by peaceful countryside and pleasant gardens.

The home is light and airy and provides nursing, residential and respite care for older people, including expert care for individuals with physical disabilities. We also offer supportive and sensitive end of life care.

When we design our care plans, we make it unique to the individual and we spend lots of time with our residents getting to know about their life and their interests so that we can organise activities that they like and provide the support that they need.

We treat all residents with the dignity and compassion that they deserve and we always provide the same standards of care that we would wish for ourselves and our own families.

Everyone at Ponteland Manor care home including our manager understands how important family are and we encourage relatives and friends of residents to visit and stay for as long as they like.

Our dedicated team ensure that the care home is always fun and engaging so that each day offers something special for our residents. We have animals bought in from the local zoo, regular visits from school children, professional musicians and entertainers, strong community links with Church groups and a wide range of activities such as flower arranging, arts and crafts, jigsaws and more. We even have a pamper room where residents can get treatments like hand massages and manicures. You can learn more about our wonderful facilities here.

We also like to empower our residents at Ponteland Manor care home and support them to take part in causes that they are passionate about and often support these various charities.

Who you are

An NMC Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD), you will be well versed in care planning processes and fully familiar with clinical assessment tools.
You will be keen to develop your leadership skills and clinical knowledge, capable of building close relationships with residents and their families, and determined to drive continuous improvement.
