We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic Staff Nurses to join our friendly cardiology team within the cardiothoracic services unit.

York Ward is a 34-bedded ward and has been recently joined with a brand new Cardiology day case unit-the Squire Centre. There will be the opportunity to rotate into this unit. We care for cardiology patients requiring specialist cardiac investigations such as interventional cardiology, heart failure, rhythm management and cardiac devices and pre-cardiac surgery; you’ll have the opportunity to work within both areas.

As a band 5 staff nurse within the team you will support the Ward Sister and your colleagues in providing high standards of patient care. You’ll be required to demonstrate competence in assessing, planning and evaluating the care needs of a group of patients with support from your ward manager, colleagues and Educator team.

This is an exciting opportunity, for nurses new to the cardiology speciality that have a keen interest to learn and expand their knowledge or nurses who wish to expand their existing cardiology experience in a specialist centre.

We’re committed to the training and career development of our staff and have a clear cardio-respiratory competency pathway. Once staff, have had the appropriate training and completed competencies, there is the opportunity to rotate to the high dependency unit and the cardiothoracic ward.
