Job Details

We are looking for an experienced Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team on our dedicated Respiratory ward.

Working as a Registered Nurse on Hethel ward you will help us care for a diverse group of patients with respiratory based conditions as part of a well-organized and friendly team.  You will also help us to provide a professional and empathetic service to the patients and relatives in our care.

We have some really exciting things happening on Hethel ward as we continue to expand and develop our Acute Respiratory Service.   We are in the process of implementing two designated 6 bedded bays one male one female to care for up to 12 patients on Non-invasive ventilation (NIV). We are calling them our ARC bays. In the development of this service we plan in time to offer opti-flow and tracheostomy care, once a robust training scheme is in place to support nursing staff to take on these enhanced skills and provide outstanding care for patients.

This is an idea opportunity for a nurse who wants a long term career in HDU as the ward caters for acute patients.

With an investment in technology we are revolutionising patient treatment and freeing up Nurses time – no manual blood pressure on Hethel ward – we have the technology to do it for us!

We take an imaginative approach to our nursing teams, including Nurse Registrars and Nurse Consultants running their own clinics and Specialist Nurses  taking a leading role in the care of patients.

Why Norwich?

In Norwich a staggering 77% of people say they love their job.   Although less than 2 hours from London and serviced by excellent transport links , Norwich is one of few UK cities that still retain a strong local identity and with that a strong sense of community – people walk down the street and say hello to each other, baristas remember our coffee order, you get to know about interesting local projects.

This strong sense of self along with excellent shopping, eating out, affordable house prices and excellent schooling is why Norwich has been ranked by the Guardian as the best city to work in.
