At The Wilmslow Hospital, we diagnose and treat a range of conditions using some of the most advanced technology in the region, from our 3T MRI scanner to our state-of-the-art laminar flow operating theatres.

The hospital is made up of 13 consultant rooms; a full diagnostic imaging suite; 2 operating theatres and a dedicated women’s health unit.

Job Description

As the Theatre Practitioner (Recovery) you will be responsible for the total nursing care of individual patients within the recovery area and ensuring recovery criteria is adhered to before discharging patients. This will include preparing the recovery area, completing all post-surgery checks required and administering drugs as required.

This is a full time role working 37.5hrs per week - working a mixture of earlies and long days, Across Monday - Saturday, with the facility opening between 06:00 - 22:00.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare the recovery area before patient arrival
  • Completion of all post-operative checks
  • Monitor vital signs and administering drugs as required
  • Sign patients off for return to the ward
  • Implements and evaluates patient care around infection control measures.

Skills & Experience

  • RGN or ODP
  • Post graduate experience in theatre recovery
  • Experience of incubated patients
