Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for the provision of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) across the county. Our teams offer a range of individual, family, group and pharmacological interventions depending on the needs of the child, young person and family/carers. The Trust is also part of the Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme (IAPT).

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Practitioner to join our team as a crisis practitioner. This is a permanent full time post in the Poole community CAMHS team.  You will be responsible for managing crisis cases, providing duty cover, providing short term crisis interventions, working closely with clinicans including the Consultant Psychiatrist and undertaking DSH assessments.

The post holder will be expected to provide high quality of care ensuring high standards of clinical practice when working with all young people and their families/carers. Delivering a variety of care and intensive evidence-based treatment interventions, on a one-to-one, family and group basis to promote recovery, appropriate in partnership with children,young people and families/carers.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.  The DBS levies a charge of £44 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments.  This will only apply to candidates who are new to the Trust and not internal staff.

Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service and are able to present a valid DBS certificate will not incur a charge.
