Sister/Charge Nurse x2

2 Full-time posts – Outpatient Centre and Ward

REF: 273-D4-3061

Hours p/w: 37.5

Band 7

Salary: £37,659- £47,778 p.a. inclusive of HCAS

Moorfields Private is the London-based private division of the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, with a reputation as a centre of excellence for providing ophthalmic care to private patients from the UK and across the world.

Due to the expansion of our private patient services and the retirement of one of the post holders, we have two exciting opportunities for innovative, enthusiastic, and experienced nurses to lead our dedicated private patient ward and outpatient services.

Our Outpatient Centre in City Road sees approx. 30,000 patients per annum and has recently undergone an extensive £4.5 million refurbishment programme. The Centre offers dedicated private ophthalmic consulting and diagnostic facilities, together with an adnexal suite, including treatment room for minor procedures, as well as a dedicated intra-vitreal injection suite. The role also has responsibility for the consulting facilities based at 8 Upper Wimpole Street, London which has recently undergone a refurbishment.

Our dedicated private patient admission facility known as the Francis Cumberlege Wing, is a 24 hour service, with accommodation for 20 patients caring for all ophthalmic specialties and treating approx. 4,500 patients per annum.

The post holders will work closely with the Lead Nurse to further develop the patient experience and business potential and contribute to the future expansion opportunities for private patients. In addition, the post holders will work collaboratively with other senior nurse colleagues within both Moorfields Private and the wider Moorfields NHS Trust to actively participate in the developing role of both the ophthalmic nurse and technician.

Please see the Role Profile and Person Specification for more details of the skills and experience required. Experience in the private sector would be advantageous and consideration will be given to those without an ophthalmic nurse qualification. (Previous applicants need not apply).

An informal discussion and/or visit is highly recommended. Please contact Gillian Reed, Lead Nurse – Cumberlege Wing on 020 7566 2943.
