Drug & Alcohol Clinical Nurse Consultant [ SYDNEY ]

The Drug & Alcohol Consultation and Liaison Clinical Nurse Consultant is responsible for the provision of expert clinical advice to patients/clients, carers and other health care professionals on complex Drug and Alcohol issues and care needs within the Nepean Hospital and the health District Drug and Alcohol Service.

This new position will be based within Nepean Hospital, close to the Blue Mountains in Sydney West, and will provide a specialised consultation and liaison role for patients within the Emergency Department. There is a focus on delivering evidence based clinical interventions within best practice models of care to achieve good clinical outcomes for patients. The position will be expected to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis.

Essential requirements:

• Current registration with AHPRA or have applied for registration.

• Minimum five years full time equivalent post qualification experience, with at least three years full time equivalent experience in drug and alcohol and post graduate qualifications in drug and alcohol and has recent hospital experience.
