Do you have a passion for Paediatric Emergency Nursing and want to develop your emergency nursing career further?

We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are ready to take on a new challenge.  We have several posts available, within an identified career structure with clearly defined opportunities for further development, dependent on your level of experience.

The posts we are currently looking to fill are:

Band 5 Nurses (some ward experience or previous A & E experience desirable) 393-NMUH-1689

Band 6 Nurses 393-NMUH-1690

Band 7 Nurse   393-NMUH-1691

Band 6 Trainee Paediatric Nurse Practitioner 393-NMUH-1692

Our Paediatric A&E is one of the busiest in London, with over 45,000 attendances. The Trust operates in a challenging urban environment, with high levels of deprivation in nearby wards and cultural expectations of the large migrant population as to how a health service operates. The Paediatric A&E department at North Middlesex University Hospital is a 24hour dedicated Paediatric unit run and staffed by a team of Paediatric Nurses and two Paediatric Emergency Consultants. We have a strong commitment to delivering safe, timely and effective care to each child and their family that we see.

For our senior posts, we are looking for experienced A & E Paediatric nurses to join our team to provide seamless care to all our patients, and to help us to develop our services further.

We can offer you the opportunity to further develop your emergency care skills, learn new ones and take up opportunities for continuing professional development, in a fast paced, friendly and demanding environment.

We are currently further developing our Paediatric Nurse Practitioner service and this is another opportunity for experienced band 6 nurses to develop skills in. You will be supported as a Trainee PNP, whilst undertaking study at South Bank University following a 2 year programme to attain a Children's Advanced Nurse Practitioner PgDip.

For the band 7 post we are looking for an individual with proven A & E skills and experience to help lead the Paediatric A&E team during a key time of development for the department.

The post will enable you to keep both your clinical and managerial skills current, whilst shaping children, young people and their families’ experience of emergency services, and taking the initiative in developing the nursing team’s emergency care skills.

The successful candidate will work closely together with the other ward managers to provide an efficient and seamless patient pathway between all areas.

The ideal applicant should have experience of working as senior staff nurse in a paediatric A&E department, be able to demonstrate effective management and leadership skills.  Whilst also being able to evidence that they have current clinical nursing skills.

We have strong links with three leading London universities; Middlesex University, London South Bank University and City University and believe that in developing our staff we ensure the continued development of our department.

We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic, energetic, hardworking and committed paediatric nurses who enjoy the fast pace of a busy A&E department.

If you feel you are ready for a change we would welcome the opportunity to talk to you or to arrange a visit/tour of the department. Please contact Samantha Davison - A&E Paediatric Manager on 020 8887 2560 to arrange an informal visit.
