Community Oncology Matron Bournemouth & Poole

Would you like to be at the forefront of service development and committed to improving care for patients with cancer and complex health/social needs? We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Oncology Matron to work with the existing friendly Community Oncology Nurse Specialist Team in Bournemouth & Poole, Dorset.

You will be responsible for managing your own patient caseload, working as an independent practitioner. The role will involve assessment, planning and co-ordination of care, and assisting in the administration of cancer treatments within the community setting. You will also be a non-medical prescriber (or willing to undertake qualication), to help manage patients’ symptoms or side-effects of treatment. The successful candidates will be responsible for the care of patients with a cancer diagnosis and for their carers, working in collaboration with colleagues across many disciplines.

You will also provide specialist advice and act as a resource to others regarding cancer care and survivorship. You will support the team in delivering training and education to primary health care staff, patients and carers.

Excellent clinical and advanced communication skills are essential requirements for this post. We are looking for a registered nurse with oncology experience; you will need enthusiasm and a commitment to provide the highest standards of care to patients, relatives and carers, sand the ability to provide professional clinical leadership.
