Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Theatre Practitioner to join our multi-disciplinary team at Emersons Green NHS Treatment Centre on a fixed term basis. You will have direct operational responsibility for Theatres and PACU at Emersons Green and oversight and support for our Devizes NHS Treatment Centre.

Key Responsibilities

As the Theatre Manager you will take responsibility for the management of the pre and post anaesthetic care units (PACU), all operating theatres and endoscopy suites across both sites maintaining a high standard of care at all times.

Working in conjunction with the Head of Nursing and Clinical Services you will provide leadership, and sound management skills to the units. You will be an expert clinical practitioner and will be responsible for the delivery of patient care, managing, leading, co-ordinating and overseeing clinical practice for all peri-operative services provided by the three units.

Qualifications

• NMC Registered Nurse Level 1 or HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner
• Scrub nurse Peri-operative, theatre or ODP qualification
• ENB176/183 or equivalent

Additional Information

Please note this is a fixed term contract.

At Emersons Green, we offer day case and in-patient surgery across the following areas: dental surgery, ear, nose and throat procedures, endoscopy, general surgery, gynaecology, minor orthopaedic surgery, diagnostic imaging, pain management, ophthalmology, and urology. In addition we also provide diagnostic services, using the latest X-ray and ultrasound technology.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Substantial experience at clinical management level leading a large multidisciplinary clinical team in an acute healthcare environment
• Extensive clinical peri-operative experience
• Acute care experience
• Experience with inspections to ensure CQC compliance
• Experience with Quad audits
• The ability to deliver high quality services within set budgets
• Sound understanding of Clinical Governance and Risk management
• Understanding of NHSLA, CQC, and relevant legislation
