Care Assistants: Entry level and Senior Care Assistants

The Pay:

Care Assistant/ Support Worker

£7.20 – Basic Rate

£7.70 – Weekend Rate

£14.40 – Bank Holiday Rate

Senior Care Assistant/ Support Worker

£8.35 – Basic Rate

£8.85 – Weekend Rate

£16.70 – Bank Holiday Rate

The Job Description/ Responsibilities:

Job Description:

  • To meet the personal care needs of service users in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes independence.
  • To help in the care of the service users physical environment and in the general day to day activities of the home.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist and help service users.
  • Assist with therapeutic programmes designed to enhance the service user’s physical well being and social development.
  • Help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of service users through talking with them, taking them out and sharing in a wide range of activities.
  • Some laundry/ cleaning will be required from time to time.
  • Answer the door and telephone, and greet visitors.
  • Read and write reports, take part in staff and service users meetings and in training activities as required by the Registered Manager.
  • Fulfil the criteria set by the National Care Standards Act 2000 of six training sessions per year and to keep a record.
  • Adhere to the confidentiality and data protection policies.
  • Abide by the rules governing the safety and handling of drugs.
  • Assist Commission for Social Care inspectors during visits of inspection.
