We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff in the Nursing department.

This is a FULL time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Experience in a acute surgical hospital area
• Up to date knowledge in ambulatory patient care, surgical care and medical care
• Demonstrates confidentiality
• Advance Computer skills
• HCA Certificate or NVQ 2-3
• Phlebotomy course and experience
• Updated BLS course

Duties of this role include:

• To ensure that standards of customer care are consistently maintained at all times in accordance with agreed operational policies and procedures as a skilled member of the department team.
• To promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of all customers, employees and visitors.
• To assist Senior Staff in their management of the department and to provide effective leadership and management in their absence.
• To provide support and guidance for other junior members of staff-bank HCA and students
• To ensure that department operational policies are maintained and complied with; to advise senior staff of any amendments considered desirable.
• Phlebotomy duties during work hours in ward and phlebotomy department
• Partake in audit on the ward
• To participate in a programme of Quality Assurance as directed by Senior Staff.
