We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our cardiology department based at our facility in in St Johns Wood, London (NW8 9LE).

At the leading edge of modern healthcare, our cardiology department consists of 3 cardiac catheter labs and 4 non-invasive rooms. We provide a wide range of procedures including adult cardiac catheterisation, PTCA and Stent procedures, Rotablator and IVUS, TAVI, Electrophysiology studies including 3D Mapping systems, RF and Cryo ablations, Pacemaker/Bivent/Defibrillator and Reveal implants.

Job Description

The Healthcare Assistant will work as part of a team, assisting with the patient care requirements under the provision of a registered nurse to ensure the provision of nursing care of the highest quality to patients. The role will also entail performing administrative duties as required, facilitating the smooth running of the department.

Hours and Shifts: 37.5 hours/week, Monday-Friday (Shifts between 7am and 8pm)

Salary: £20,000 - £23,402 per annum, dependent on experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care to patients, under the supervision of trained nursing staff.
• Assist in escorting patient to and from Cardiology and Catheter Lab.
• Clean trolleys and general equipment between cases under supervision.
• Monitoring of stock levels.
• Ordering meals for Consultants.
• Will assist in the maintenance of a clean, tidy, comfortable and safe department environment.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant within either an NHS or private hospital setting.
• Experience in the Cardiac Cath Lab or Theatre environment would be advantageous although not essential.
• Educated to NVQ level 2 or 3 standard (or equivalent).
• Excellent communication, prioritisation and multi-tasking skills.
• Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Word.
