Job Description
We are inviting Staff Nurses with a strong surgical background, to join this 18 bedded acute Neurospinal Surgical unit.
You will work alongside a dedicated team of Neuro trained nurses caring for patients with elective and emergency neurosurgical needs. The patient cases are complex, as there is a mixture of brain and spinal surgery, including back restructuring.
This is a full time permanent position, based on 37.5 hours per week. Hours are 08.00am to 20.30pm and 20.00pm-08.30am.
salary: £31,630 to £35,822 dependent on experience.

Duties & Responsibilities
The post holder will plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of nursing care. Working within a team, supervising and directing junior staff, deputising for the Senior Staff Nurse and Sister in their absence.
In addition they will:
- Demonstrate good clinical practice at all times
- Contribute to high standards of care and development initiatives
- Undertake extended roles such as IV Cannulation and phlebotomy
- Carry out nursing duties as requested by senior staff
Skills & Experience
- Registered Nurse with extensive post graduate experience
- Proven Surgical or Neuro experience
- ENB 998 course, or equivalent mentoring course desirable
- Phlebotomy training desirable
- Mentorship course is desirable
