Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding role ? Then look no further... Situated in Redditch, HMP Hewell is a split site prison separated by approximately half a mile. The larger part is category B, holding up to 1,104 remand, sentenced and vulnerable prisoners and has the potential to hold category A prisoners as well. The smaller part (The Grange) is a category D open site holding up to 204 prisoners. There is an 18 bedded inpatient unit and a dispensing pharmacy on site (both on the Cat B site). To ensure the continued quality of care at these prisons, we are looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join our team.



About the job:



As a Nurse Practitioner with independent prescribing, you'll deliver face to face services, enabling patients to obtain health information from the appropriate health care professional. Providing safe and effective health assessments and treatment of patients within the establishment. You'll be accountable for your own practice, working within your own sphere of competence and agreed acceptable limits of practice, you'll assess patients, and order and interpret investigations, diagnose and treat patients who wish to be seen by a Nurse Practitioner. You'll be responsible for the assessment of care needs the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, without supervision, and to teach other nursing and non-nursing staff. Prescribing medicines within your own scope of practice. Working as part of the multi-disciplinary team in providing quality, evidence-based health care to meet the immediate needs of the patient, you'll take an active role within the cross-disciplinary, multi-skilled team to ensure service quality in line with corporate goals and strategy; to assist in the implementation of the wellbeing approach which have a positive impact on the health economy.

*INTERVIEWS WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY 27TH APRIL 2017* This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week. The salary for this role is up to £45,000 per annum - dependent on qualifications and experience. We also offer 25 days annual leave + 8 public holidays, Contributory pension scheme 2-5%. You'll be a 1st level Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with current registration with the UK Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) and have evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD). Educated to Degree level (BSc), with an Independent Nurse Prescribing qualification, you'll have proven experience of patient contact services and/or primary care nursing and experience of working independently within Nurse Practitioner/Specialist role.
