Job Details

Join us and take your career to new heights leading a team of caring and compassionate professionals.

We are seeking to appoint Band 7 Team Leaders to the Single Point of Access for Hertfordshire Mental Health and Learning Disability services based in St Albans.

The Single Point of Access (SPA) service provides a comprehensive referral management system for all new referrals to Hertfordshire Partnership University Foundation Trust (HPFT), providing all referrals with timely screening and triage, allocating referrals to appropriate Trust care pathways or signposting onward to non-Trust services.

You will be an experienced Mental Health clinician with excellent assessment and risk management skills and the ability to embrace and drive change and innovation.

You will be a skilled and intuitive communicator with experience of leading, operationally managing and professionally supervising a team.

You would form part of an established group of knowledgeable and experienced Team Leaders working together to support each other in providing effective and coordinated leadership. You will work directly to the SPA Manager, who will provide support, development and direction. As such this is an excellent role for someone looking to move into their first management role as well as those who feel their management experience could benefit the team and take the service from Good to Great.

This post offers a unique opportunity to be part of a service with a dedicated and very supportive staff team, at the forefront of a modern mental health service which is proud to be working together with a range of partners to achieve the best possible outcomes for service users.

We are looking for a confident, committed and hardworking person. You will be self-motivated, enthusiastic about your work and a supportive team player who enjoys working in a busy environment.

About the Service:

We are based in St Albans and are responsible for screening referrals to HPFT and delivering telephone triage to service users in Hertfordshire to ensure that they are directed to the correct pathway for their assessment and treatment in a timely way. The service currently operates a shift system over 7 days per week, and has recently moved to a comprehensive 24hour, 7 day a week service delivering the HPFT out of hours’ mental health helpline service.

As Team Leader, you would generally work a shift pattern during the centre's core daytime working hours (07:30 to 20:00 Monday to Friday), with one Saturday per Month on average.

We look forward to hearing from those who are ready to take on the pace and challenge of this fast developing service.
