About The Facility
HCA NHS Ventures is an innovative branch of HCA Healthcare UK, working in partnership with NHS Trusts across the country. HCA NHS Ventures provides continually high-quality treatment, within state-of-the-art facilities, supported by the latest technology and the infrastructure of large NHS hospitals. Although these joint ventures are with NHS Trusts, patients are treated in an exclusively private setting.
Harley Street at Queen's is a dedicated private patient's centre providing world-class treatment locally to the Essex community. The centre is based at Queen's Hospital in Romford and specialises in cancer care, complex neurosurgery and general surgery services. The radiotherapy equipment include a Varian iX linac and access to the NHS dedicated radiotherapy CT scanner.
Job Description
As a Specialist Dietitian at Harley Street at Queens, you will work autonomously to provide specialist advice to patients, carers and clinicians based on clinical evidence, with guidance from MDT.
This will involve nutritional diagnosis (interpretation of biochemistry, anthropometrics, clinical condition and analysis of diet history) the development of treatment plans (calculation of nutritional requirements and client centred goals)
This is a Part time role working 30 hrs per week

Duties & Responsibilities
Monitoring and reviewing nutritional care plans against outcome measures and adjust care plans as appropriate to facilitate achievement of goals.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and ward rounds to provide specialist advice to facilitate discharge planning (e.g. patients with enteral feeding) treatment planning (e.g. gastroenterology, head and neck) rehabilitation
Communicate a complex diagnosis using sensitivity, reassurance and empathy to gain consent and understanding of the treatment plans required prior to dietetic intervention.
Using counselling skills, communicate unpleasant news sensitively including to those with advanced disease and their carers.
Being responsible for the discharge planning of patients going home on artificial nutritional support to ensure safe and timely discharge.
Skills & Experience
As the successful candidate for this position, you will hold a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent, and be registered with the HCPC and BDA.
Previous experience of working within a hospital environment is highly desirable
