This interesting role will involve working across two of our London based facilities. These include The London Radiotherapy Centre, which is a dedicated private patients' centre providing world-class radiotherapy treatment within London's Guys Hospital and our private joint partnership with University College London Hospital (UCH), which specialises in complex sarcoma, head and neck and haematological cancers and is one of only a few centres in the UK to have JACIE accreditation for its bone marrow transplant service.

Job Description

You will be a clinical expert in the field of cancer and radiotherapy treatment side effects, providing expert advice to patients, families and staff to enhance the patient journey.

A significant part of your role will be to promote a patient focused multidisciplinary approach to care in collaboration with carers, health professional and other agencies.

The successful candidate will join a team of 6 Oncology and Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialists and will be an integral member of an already thriving and diverse team.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice and support colleagues
• Educate patients and their families/carers as required and when a need has been identified
• Participate in the Clinical Competency programme, ensuring that all mandatory and clinical skills training is undertaken and kept up to date
• Support, mentor and act as role model for junior staff assisting their learning and application of theory to practice
• Participate in policy making activities that influence clinical management development
• Assist in audit and quality assessment processes
• Assess and manage risk, ensuring safe environment for patients, staff and colleagues
• Develop clinical standards and monitor their effectiveness
• Understand and contribute to the clinical governance processes

Skills & Experience

• Registered Nurse Level 1: 5 years + Radiotherapy/Oncology experience
• NMC Registration and PREP requirements
• Post Registration Qualification
